FFMPEG: Creating a video from JPG images on the command line

So I have this directory filled with 102.766 webcam stills in JPG format. I want to convert these images into a nice AVI video file on my linux machine.

To do this, I simply call the following line on my command line from inside the directory where my images are in. The images do not have to be numbered squentially for this to work.

ffmpeg -pattern_type glob -framerate 60 -i '*.jpg' -vcodec mpeg4 foo.avi

This produces a video with a framerate of 60 fps – which is really nice for my webcam “timelapse” video. The webcam I saved the images from makes one frame every minute, so I get a whole hour of footage into one second of video.
